At Thompson Pediatric Dentistry, all children are treated safely, lovingly, and compassionately. All treatments and experiences are individualized and customized to each patient. We are passionate about educating our patients and their families and striving for optimal oral health. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Barbara Thompson has spent years educating herself and believes that learning is lifelong.

ABOUT ME
Dr. Barbara Thompson grew up in the middle Tennessee area of Franklin. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Tennessee State University. Having been exposed to dentistry her entire life, Dr. Thompson furthered her education, following in her father’s footsteps, and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College. At Meharry, she discovered her passion for working with children, which led her to complete two additional years of education in the specialty of pediatric dentistry at Howard University.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Thompson worked in the middle Tennessee area before relocating to Montgomery, Alabama, and then Atlanta, Georgia. After working in Georgia for several years, she and her family moved back to Tennessee to fulfill her dream of opening her pediatric dental practice and having a full-circle moment of being able to practice under the same roof as her father.
Dr. Barbara is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a member of various dental organizations.
Outside of the office, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters and cooking, traveling, and running. She has completed a couple of half-marathons and looks forward to meeting more.
